This is one of the main advantages CityFALCON offers over other news providers. Filters are available on watchlists, individual topics, and search results (on the search portal). There is another filter for trending topics, which is a little different from the others.
There are filters both on the desktop platform and the mobile one (and the voice one, actually!).
The refresh rate determines how often we send you a fresh set of data. If you're working in a highly volatile market, you will want to set this lower. If the market is pretty static, though, or you have a slower internet connection, you can use a lower refresh rate.
Sorting style is how you want your results to be displayed. This can be latest, the most relevant, most read, or most popular.
This criterion will determine the age of the article or tweet. Choose from five minutes ago to several years into the past. Of course, the shorter time period you choose, the fewer results there will be.
As a Silver or Gold subscriber, you'll be able to more precisely refine your time period, too. See how to use advanced time filters.
This is one of the most important differentiators for CityFALCON. Like every other news aggregator, we offer stories and content from thousands of sources. But we've also categorised sources into 1) major or other news publication, 2) research, and 3) tweets. In fact, we find Twitter to be so influential in finance that we even wrote an entire article about it!
Tweets are broken down into those originating from different sources. Under Advanced Settings, we also let you filter tweets for those with links or only view tweets from people you follow on Twitter.
Finally, you can choose whether to see results for sources that require registration or have paywalls.
As a Gold subscriber, you'll be able to include or exclude specific sources in the results feed. See how to use the advanced source filter.
This is another major differentiator for CityFALCON. Not only do we let you filter everything, we also give it a relevancy score. Via filters, you can choose to only view stories that are highly relevant. Contrarily, you might want to view results that are tangentially relevant when targeting new investments to ensure there are no peripheral risks.
This filter lets you view or hide content in specific languages. You can choose only languages you speak for first-hand understanding. In the future, we will also offer on-demand translation. That way, users can get a different cultural or political perspective than the one prevalent in international English.
Layout, Summaries, Similar Story Grouping
In the layout filter, we have provided the option to switch between rows and tiles, show an automated summary, and group similar stories
In this design, we bring the most popular and demanded features into focus, making curation as simple as possible. Use this layout when you only need a top-level view and want simplicity.
If you need deep refinement and filtration, use the advanced layout. More screen real-estate is available for reading while all filters and refinement tools are available.
